The nut is an all steel self locking nut - Part# 79-201 @ blackdragonauto.com for $1.65. Page 88-89

It's either a nylock nut or a prevailing torque nut (can't remember which). Nylock using a nylon insert to lock the nut and a prevailing torque nut is all steel but "squished" at the top to lock it. You can get them from Ace/Truvalue Hardware stores for under a dollar.
