Posted August 31, 200915 yr comment_293397 Hey I bought this speedo cable from napa the other day and it fits in fine in the tranny but i can't for the life of me get it to fit in the back of the speedometer. The inner cable seems to be too long. I have attached a pic. Any help would be appreciated Frankie Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33013-correct-speedo-cable/ Share on other sites
August 31, 200915 yr comment_293408 If the "square" drive end is long enough, cut it off to allow the end to go into the speedo head, and the nut to tighten without bind. September 4, 200915 yr comment_293716 I installed a new speedometer cable i got from Napa. I removed the cable from the houseing and cut 1/4" off the cable. Then i inserted to new cable into the old OEM housing. Works great and no bouncing. Give it a try.
