Posted September 1, 200915 yr comment_293511 Everything is going well. Changed oil and cooling system flushedCleared rodent nest from air cleaner housing and tail light panel areaAdded 5 gals of fresh fuel and drained tank *no particles found in drained fuel but did find a couple booger sized flakes in the old fuel filterNo driver side brake lightFound a portion of the Cali emission rusted clean through. The belt for the pump removed at sometime previous and conveniently stored in the rear area, so I sealed off the carb balancing tube leaving only the brake assist line intact* I would like to refresh the carbs before adding more fresh fuel and firing it up. Should I go as far (or as little) as to clean the carbs while they are in the car before firing or let sleeping dogs lie ?I wished my enthusiasm and excitement could come through in my posts, I am thrilled to have taken on this project as the car is so very clean and the rewards of a dependable and finely engineered car are but a few hours of work away. The under hood utility light needed only a bulb to make me smile everytime i flick that little switch. That light should have a voice emote that says *Congratulations ! You're a winner ! Anyone else in the mass new hampshire area?Happy hump day tomorrow ! thor Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33025-reviving-after-8-years-parked/ Share on other sites
