Posted September 12, 200915 yr comment_294548 Hello allThis afternoon I decided to change the upper hatch weather stripping. The previous owner gave me this . So I took off the deck lid and took off the old weather stripping. Test fitted the new stuff, added some glue and placed it in place using this. Placed the hatch back on an shut it. I come to find that the new weather stripping is a bit thicker and causes the hatch not to shut all the way. What I mean is, the hatch closes but is no longer flush with the rest of the car. Is this just because it is new weather stripping or did I do something wrong?ThanksJan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33163-new-weather-stripping-issue/ Share on other sites
September 13, 200915 yr comment_294567 If you put the new seal on like the old seal was installed, it's probably a matter of just letting it acclimate and compress. Door seals do the same thing and letting the car sit in the sun with the seal compressed will generally help it form into place.Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33163-new-weather-stripping-issue/#findComment-294567 Share on other sites
