Has anyone every swapped a 240Z engine with one of the following:

a) Skyline engine (any)

300Z(X) engine (turbo or NA)

c) Chevy 350 small block

d) Silvia engine (SR20DET(T))

If you have could you please give me or someone else any information which would be useful. Price, size constraints, availiblity, and other modifications neccesary for swap. Thanks.

I've read about all those engine swaps being done before. Except the SR20 I'm not sure if anyone has done it and I wouldn't suggest it as the 4 cylinder might upset the 240z's beautiful handling.

Most do a RB20DET swap as it's cheap and easier and powerfull.

Someone posted their Zilvia pic up in the Gallery before... more power but man, it's still a 4-banger !!!

i can see handling improving, the silvia engine is all alloy, and will weigh alot less than a Inline 6,

lighter = faster in a straight line but it will screw up the weight distribution and make it under steer.

and it will sound like a fart

My Z has an FJ20 and it handles much better. As all the weight that was lost (about 50kgs) was taken from in front of the crossmember that's not surprising.
