Posted September 17, 200915 yr comment_294977 Ok,So I'm trying to wire up a new turn signal system since the stock one's don't work. I know I need a thermal flasher but for some reason I can't seem to find any good schematics or directions for exactly what I need and what order to wire everything in order to make them work. I would like to put a switch in the center console and attach it to a small led that will illuminate to let me know that the turn signals are in. Anybody have any links or any ideas of the best way to do that? Thanks in advance for any tips you guys have,Fletch Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33221-wiring-indendent-turn-signal-switch/ Share on other sites
September 17, 200915 yr comment_294978 It's just a simple SPDT switch that needs to be spliced into the steering column wiring. I'd like to put one on my car too, because I like to drive right-handed. It'd be great to signal lane changes without getting your other arm off the door. What happened with your factory wiring? IMO, it would be more difficult to rewire the car than to correct the factory wring and/or add an extra control switch. I once saw a flasher unit that played a song (Love Me Tender) because you can get rather oblivious to the clicking of the OE stuff. Please keep us informed if your progress. thxZ Edited September 17, 200915 yr by TomoHawk Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33221-wiring-indendent-turn-signal-switch/#findComment-294978 Share on other sites

October 8, 200915 yr comment_296960 And I also posted a responce to that on this forum. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30640&page=5You need to rebuild the switch and instal an Electonic flasher. Thermals are the cause of the switches downfall.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33221-wiring-indendent-turn-signal-switch/#findComment-296960 Share on other sites
