Posted September 24, 200915 yr comment_295578 I am the new owner of a 78 280z....ok..ok it's a 2+2, but I had to get back into a Zcar. It's not perfect but it's got a solid frame and rails - which is rare in Missouri. My problem is that the accelerator sticks. I am able to pull the pedal back and it's fine. I have lubed everything but I think it might be the spring at the end of the rod (i think it's actually called something else). I haven't picked up a book on it yet, but I thought I would check with the experts first. September 24, 200915 yr comment_295582 Have you checked your floor mats? I ended up taking the floor mats out and then the carpet out after mine got jammed open enough times and in enough difficult situations. Problem solved (for me). September 24, 200915 yr comment_295588 Is it manual or auto? I've heard of some issues with the kickdown switch bracket interfering with the accelerator pedal. Poke your head under the dash and push the pedal and see if anything binds up.
