Posted September 30, 200915 yr comment_296062 Just saw this ad on craigslist. The car is about 15 minutes from me, so I may go take a look at it tomorrow and find what they hope to get for it: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ctd/1395378600.html Is anyone potentially (seriously) interested in it. Probably a totally rust free California car with original paint, matching numbers, and all documentation from the day it was new. York air conditioning compressor (after fiddling with it for 20 years that's the system I gave up on). September 30, 200915 yr comment_296076 It's also up for auction on ebay as item number 120473777402. There's about 20 additional photos shown on the listing. September 30, 200915 yr comment_296083 I found it cute that the entire description consists of mainly standard features but the A/C wasn't listed. It looks like a typical description composed by someone not really familiar with these cars. The fuel door looks odd with both the finger pull and lock knob. Hard to tell if that is a keyed knob or not. The choke knob has got to go too. The description doesn't mention a repaint and I would ask questions. In the pic of the roof you can see paint on the windshield rubber. It does look good in the pics that are provided and deserves a look in person if anyone is interested. I certainly wouldn't advise putting a serious bid on this car without it being looked over closely.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120473777402&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33368-interesting-240z-for-sale/#findComment-296083 Share on other sites

If any of you are really buying this, I can give you some advise. I have been a professional car inspector in L.A. October 1, 200915 yr comment_296125 41 cars a day if you include weekends. Did you mean 1500?SteveI used to have a business (www.autoinspector.org) and had contract with Auto Nation (about 80th biggest comapny in Fortune 500).We were certifying cars for their auction as well as doing arbitration for sold vehicles. I also did bunch of pre-purchase inspection for retail customer, and did bunch of professional witness at courts. Some days, I inspected over 200 a day ( used to get up at 4:30AM, and went to my office at 5AM)believe it or not. Some cars faild in a matter of a few seconds, some others take a lot more time.(I have been an ASE certified tech as well as N.A.A.A. I owned a shop for 12 years in Tucson so I know the routine. I'm still ASE master auto tech certified although I've been out of the biz for 11 years.Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33368-interesting-240z-for-sale/#findComment-296146 Share on other sites
October 1, 200915 yr comment_296149 Where's the obligatory close up shot of the odometer? This car would need plenty of documentation to convince me that it hasn't been around at least once. Like esprist says, it look a little rough for it's description.
