Bonzi Lon Posted November 17, 2009 Share #121 Posted November 17, 2009 It has snowed on me on Independence Pass in CO on the 4th of July. I prefer KS as it is flat enough to watch your dog run away for 3 days, and easy to spot a rouge tornado. Your adventure has been a great read. Thanks. Bruce Palmer Posted November 17, 2009 Share #123 Posted November 17, 2009 Frankie, You made the right decision. A big ol' storm came roaring in off the Pacific last night.... They were calling for like 75 MPH winds on the coast. In fact, Astoria is 6 feet farther inland today than it was yesterday, it blew that hard. Yeth thir, that's what I heard, yeth thir...... Had you been there, you'd a been on your way to Costa Rica by now.... FastWoman Posted November 17, 2009 Share #124 Posted November 17, 2009 Sort of a minor factor in deciding where to spend the rest of one's life, but do check into the emissions requirements for your first-born child (your Z). Some of those states (including especially California) can be very strict. motorman7 Posted November 17, 2009 Share #125 Posted November 17, 2009 No problem for Frankie here in CA. 1975 and older vehicles, you can do anything you want. They don't even ask for smog cert for registration when they are that old. I know, I registered a '70 and '71 this year. He's in a 1972...clear sailing.Rich Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33388-oregon-or-bust/?page=11#findComment-300621 Share on other sites
soundmasterg Posted November 18, 2009 Share #126 Posted November 18, 2009 As the others have said its better for you to discover what winter weather is like here right off the bat, though I'm sure its no worse than where you were from and certainly not as bad as Chicago. You should make it a point sometime in your future travels to come back up here in the middle of the summer....you'll see then why people stay here. Good luck in your travels and hope you find a place to settle where you can be happy and it doesn't cost too much to live so you will have more money to treat your Z right.greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33388-oregon-or-bust/?page=11#findComment-300687 Share on other sites

spitz17 Posted January 15, 2010 Share #130 Posted January 15, 2010 Why on EARTH would you leave Indiana? haha.. well I can tell you one thing, the west coast is much more exciting these days. Having lived in California most my life, and spending 4 years at Purdue University in Indiana, I can vouch for that.
