  1. 1. What is rude behavior in a thread?

    • Posting to insult or anger instead of to share Z info.
    • Posting misinformation as fact.
    • Posting USA based 240Z info without lableing it as such.
    • Posting USA info as the only facts in the S30 information base.
    • Posting a known defenseless position.

The first one is the only one that is really rude. The rest are just misinformed in their own right. People look at the world through a lens that is their own culture. It isn't necessarily intended to be rude, it is just all they have to work with. The clash comes when others who are more well traveled or simply more aware of a global existence challenge the view of the person who sees things through the lens of their small world.

It's a website and, as such, a public place. Is it up to those in this public place to determine that a person's view needs to be challenged? Or set some kind of standard, so to speak? Not saying that I disagree with your assessment, I'm just not sure that that's anyone's role here. Many times, it's just misunderstanding. You and I have experienced that with each other. Correcting the misinformation/misunderstanding, yes. Challenging the viewpoint, not sure about that. That's where the arguments and this preception of rudeness begin. Because it is just a preception. We don't know enough about each other deal effectively with such things.
