We gave you a little taste of it in Part One of our JCCS coverage, but here’s the owner’s full story. This car makes us non-Z owners crave one like there’s no [...]{feed:content:encoded.}More... October 10, 200915 yr comment_297130 Is it just me or is that writer a little gushy for what the car is? Maybe I'm wrong, but it's a little weird how excited he got about what is otherwise a semi rusty, stock engine Z. October 10, 200915 yr comment_297166 Yes it is rusty, and wouldn't survive long anywhere except the desert. I guess the best that I could say about it is there is no false advertising. No $40k paint job, no V8 conversion, just an old beater sports car. But on the other hand, it has that "Rat Rod" sort of appeal. It exists to be driven not looked at in awe. I can certainly respect that aspect of the car. Perhaps that is what sent the author overboard. There is no denying however that he went overboard on this one. October 11, 200915 yr comment_297212 I saw that car at JCCS. It definitely has that rat rod feel to it. All of us (my friends and I) thought it looked pretty awesome in person. The wheels, the flares, the stance all contribute to the killer look.He drove that car to the show I think. We saw him leaving in it from the show Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33479-mad-max-datsun-240z/#findComment-297212 Share on other sites
October 11, 200915 yr comment_297215 I agree that rat rod feel is what seperates this car from just another poorly executed "ricer", however I still can't get past the stretched tire thing. Narrow the rims 1-1.5 inches, screw half of a 1 gal. gas can on as hood scoop, weld on some random rusty sheet metal patches and diamond grating over the headlight and radiator openings and this thing would be perfect...IMHO Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33479-mad-max-datsun-240z/#findComment-297215 Share on other sites

October 14, 200915 yr comment_297474 The one thing that never seems to amaze is that fact that no matter what you do to a zed, they still have killer lines and looks. This is a prime example. I'm loving this car. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33479-mad-max-datsun-240z/#findComment-297474 Share on other sites
October 14, 200915 yr comment_297486 I have been drooling over the look of this zed since I saw the first photo. I love the patina!!!! I wouldn't change anything about the look if this were my car Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33479-mad-max-datsun-240z/#findComment-297486 Share on other sites
October 14, 200915 yr comment_297513 Saw the car at JCCS, all "look" no go...Writer gushed about this car, and I don't know why. I gather the car will be wrecked or ruined, because it is lowered that much, and it is undriveable, forget the rust, the chassis will be screwed from bottoming out in no time.As for the Mods...Steering wheel extender...Ugh!
