Posted October 11, 200915 yr comment_297262 I have to replace all the engine compartment decals on my 1970 240Z. I have visited several web sites that offer some decals but none offer a comprehensive list of the decals affixed to the car at the time of production.Does anyone have such a list? Also, I am interested in feedback on the quality of reproduction decals that are available. I am specifically interested in how the decals have retained their appearance over time; including the quality of the adhesives used, the sharpness of the lettering and the effects of heat and moisture on the appearance. Thanks,Keith Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33499-decals/ Share on other sites

November 5, 200915 yr comment_299528 Many (maybe most) '70 240Zs did not come with any decals or labels on the airbox. Those didn't show up until after several months of production. I can tell you that Mike at Banzai, from my experience, is very particular about total quality. My purpose in making these decals was, initially, for my own car, but, once well into the process and hundreds of dollars later, I was glad that there was a demand that allowed me to recover these costs. This should pretty well speak to all of your concerns.Hope this helps.Dan Edited November 5, 200915 yr by AZ-240z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33499-decals/#findComment-299540 Share on other sites
November 5, 200915 yr comment_299547 The only issue you may have is with the date code for the Radiator decal near the upper hose neck. I believe the code of the decal is for a December 70 build date , "0 & L". If that's the date of your Z Mfg your in luck.Rich Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33499-decals/#findComment-299547 Share on other sites
November 6, 200915 yr comment_299557 keith, Here is a secret.Do not adhere the decals to the paint of the car.Put them on an exquisitely thin magnetic sheet. That way they can be kept in an envelope in the glove box when not on display, and will never fade, peel, or have other issues from cleaning, polishing, or running down the road, and you can put them in place at a moments noticeWill Edited November 6, 200915 yr by hls30.com Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33499-decals/#findComment-299557 Share on other sites
November 6, 200915 yr comment_299563 Will,Have you resourced some of that "exquisitely thin magnetic sheet" material? I recall seeing that idea somewhere in the forum before and sounds like a do-able idea, possibly even in a judged event.Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33499-decals/#findComment-299563 Share on other sites
