October 15, 200915 yr comment_297563 I always enjoy watching the re-build process. Looks like you have some really good body guys working on her. Hope to see final photos of the car back on the road soon. October 15, 200915 yr Author comment_297577 Great story, looking forward to seeing the finished result! You and me both. The body work would have been finished by now, except for a freak hailstorm that swamped the body shop in late July-early August. Unfortunately, I'm a one off, and since they're pretty much the best in New Mexico, they get a ton of insurance jobs, which pushes me back in line. October 16, 200915 yr comment_297654 Jehannum,It looks like they are doing great work on your car. If you aren't already planning on this, you should really consider having them remove all of the glass before they paint. Even if they go a great job masking, you will still be able to tell that the glass wasn't removed.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33519-resurrection/?&page=2#findComment-297654 Share on other sites

This is just the first coat of primer, which they told me is just a guide coat for the body guy to go over what he's done and correct any bad spots.I'm unsure whether they plan to take the rear window and windshield all the way out, though. As you can see, they've already taken the finishers off around the F/R glass, which would cover the paint edge (plus, I was quite insistent that they not break the vertical defroster rear glass). The stainless trim pieces just sit in a channel in the middle of the seal, they won't cover the paint edge. I would also worry about the channel being torn with the trim being removed and reinstalled. If you are worried about their ability to remove and replace the glass I would pay a specialty glass place to do it. But it is your car, so what ever you think is best.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33519-resurrection/?&page=2#findComment-297658 Share on other sites

October 17, 200915 yr comment_297698 Great pictures of the before and the during. Look forward to seeing the final results. Thanks for including the name of the shop as I will be looking for a place to work on 30855 in just a few months. I may have to drop by early next week and maybe see the end results, if your car is still there.-Bill- Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33519-resurrection/?&page=2#findComment-297698 Share on other sites

After talking with their body guy, the worry was that my interior would crumble during removal. I got it out no problem along with the glass in under an hour without breaking it, though (which means that they could have done so easily). October 23, 200915 yr comment_298297 Went by "Loid's Rides" this afternoon and looked her over and asked general questions about their work and what not. I have to say what they have done so far looks REALLY good . Appear they pay a lot of attention to detail. I looked at a '55 Chevy they did and it looks great! They are on top of my list when it comes to taking mine in for the "makeover". Keep up on the pictures.
