Posted October 23, 200915 yr comment_298226 Hi my name is Vernon. I live in southern Caifornia. A few years back my dad gave me his 1971 240Z. It was sitting in the garage with a broken transmission. It's orange with molded fender flares and 5 slot mags, 14x6.5 rear with 245/60/14 and 14x6 front with 205/60/14. I'm not the kind of guy to make a show car out of anything cause I like to drive to much. I can't see chipping a $5000.00 paint job so I just don't get them. Currently I'm tearing the car down to repair rust spots and rebuild the motor and trans. I will try to post picks soon. Till then, thanks for having me.Vernon:beer: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33624-1971-240z-owner/ Share on other sites

October 23, 200915 yr comment_298244 Welcome to the site. Better beef up that drivetrain if your true to the name. These cars were not designed for drag racing Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33624-1971-240z-owner/#findComment-298244 Share on other sites
October 23, 200915 yr comment_298257 welcome to this site, and good luck with your project! This is a great site for advise and network. I have been meaning to go treasure hunting around your area, since I live in Pomona, it would not be too far. Do you have any local pick up a parts/junkyards in your area? keep us posted on your progress, and post pics as soon as you can! October 23, 200915 yr comment_298261 Welcome. I used to visit the junkyards up that way when I did more junkyarding than I do now. There's the Ecology Auto in Adelanto on Alden Rd. off Hwy 395, the Pick a Part in Hesperia on Sante Fe Rd. off Bear Valley Rd., and the Pick and Pull on Gasline Rd. in Victorville near George AFB. I also lived in Pomona for about 15 years. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33624-1971-240z-owner/#findComment-298261 Share on other sites
