What does 1977 280z shift knob look like?

Here's a question i can't seem to get an answer to: If you have a shift knob with a broken or missing gear pattern insert (that little cheap plastic part that breaks after 10 years) can you get a replacement, and avoid having to buy the entire knob? I've seen the maple shifter knobs selling for over 100 dollars (not including shipping) on ebay... I have two original maple shifters from a 240z - both in pretty good shape, save for the broken and missing insert (i actually saved part [80 percent of it] of the 4 speed one that came with the car when i bought it). Complicating things abit is the fact i actually now have a 76 280z five speed trans in my 240z, but they are either made or not i suppose.

I was also considering having someone reproduce one for me, but have no idea who to contact to do that. Someone skilled in plastic molds i guess - whoever that is???

Would appreciate any suggestions...

I believe the 280Z shift knob illustrated in ZCurves post is a later style, used on 5-speeds manufactured from 01/78, the part number being 32865-U4200. The later style shift knob is not split into three (possibly leather-stitched) segments like the earlier style red-topped shift knob illustrated in the attachments below (factory fitted to my late 1977 built car). The earlier part number is 32865-U4100 and runs up to a 12/77 manufacture date. My car is a UK model, and in this case the earlier style shift knob was used on cars manufactured from 08/73 (the very great majority, and I believe all of the later UK cars were factory five speeds).

I just purchased the earlier version from nissan parts for 17Bucks. Awsome cause I was about to dish 55$ for a repro on ebay. Thanks much Jerz.
