What parts from 280zx parts car to 280z?

Hi guys it looks like I am going to pick up a complete 280zx 2+2 in a trade. Just wondering what parts would be an upgrade from my 280z?

I am also interested in finding out which parts will interchange. I understand alot of people use the 280zx distributor on the 280z. Anything else?

Really they only have compatible drive lines (engine, trans, diff). SOME brake parts have been "grafted" on. Yes 280zx NA dizzy is a common and popular upgrade to all S30 engines. All ZX wheels bolt on to S30 hubs.

They share no body, glass, interior, lights etc. Ok, the 7" round headlight bulbs fit, that's about it.

Anyone else think of something you can use directly as a bolt-on that works immediately other than the shift knob?

I am doing that very thing at this moment, but taking the turbo motor as well. If you swap the rear discs (you'll need mounting brackets), you'll need the master cylinder from the zx. The n54 block in the zx is often considered "better" as it is slightly stronger (webbing in the block) and I believe they have flat top pistons (NA motors) and can mix and match for some better power. How much, depends on who you argue with. The 5 speed is a direct swap (non turbo zx) and in reasonably high demand. Lots of arguments about it really being better in the Z's. I am putting one in all three of my drivers anyway. Oh, and under hood light will swap : )

The brake master! Of course, but not the clutch master. Different bolt pattern on the firewall.

And the inspection light! Of course! Excellent IdahoKidd.

The rad will work as well, but may hang a bit low for comfort on 240z.

I may have a set of rear 82 zx calipers kicking around, let me look tonight! I suppose you want them in usable condition too...

I think I need the 79' to 81' 280ZX rear Calipers and rotors. The rotors will be bought NEW.

These are the brackets I have (from HybridZ) and I think the above years are correct.

These are my front Calipers (12-8)

Alas I came up empty. Must have recycled them. I have a zx crazy man w/parts in Edmonton. I will ask about rear calipers and let you know.
