Plans for #1905

I bought #1905 about a year ago and have not touched it. I have collected a few NOS parts for it. For pics on the car see link: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32987&highlight=1905

I have now plan to start stripping the car and doing the resto-mod. The car is very very solid. Great starting point for the L30t. I know that is not making some of you happy due to the VIN but at least it won't get a v8 :finger:

Here is a link to the turbo build: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=141343&highlight=l30et

The plans body wise is keep the car looking stock only a spook front air dam. Plan to keep the car silver and running coil overs, big brakes and some wheels from my old Z. Interior, plan is to keep it stock looking for the most part. Not sure if I will run a roll bar yet. This is going to be a very clean resto-mod.

I will start bagging and tagging soon so parts can go to the platter and powder-coater. So you will see some of the oem parts for sale from this car.

I agree. I am half purist and half....well, un-pure, and I approve of this! Not that it matters ;-) It's one more low VIN Z saved from the crusher, being put to it's intended use. Yup, that is a Northeast car! Some do survive.

I was the purist that disagreed with you and Evil Z, I mean C. But as has

been said, it is his car and I would add, his money. Hence his decision.

But I do agree with you that there are indeed a handful of Northeast sur-

vivors. I could not disagree when our #06289 car is one of them. The

furthest she has ever been, by far, is to Raleigh NC when going down to pick

up the #00013 car in Aug 76. Other than that she has spent her entire life

on the roads of CT, MA, and RI. I should add that the #00171 car was

sold in Manchester CT and hasn't left the state in her 28700 miles.

I am the second owner of the car and it has been a NY car its entire life. Was bought new in NYC and parked in 1976 until I found it @ the end of 08. Should start up by this summer and move under its own power!

Going to be a vey nice driver and like Dave said.....saved from the crusher. All the early parts have gone to a good home.

Clive,

I remember when you found #1905 last year and enjoyed reading the story on how you discovered it. It really is a solid 240Z and you are very fortunate to find one in such good shape in the Northeast. You are doing a great job on the project. Good luck and please continue to keep updating us on the progress.

Thanks Steve. I will update this thread as the car moves forward. I am ordering new fenders this week and some other items from the dealer. I also need to get keys made for the locks and ignition while the car is gone to paint.
