November 6, 200915 yr Author comment_299561 Interesting. 240Zs had point ignition and 260/280Zs had electronic ignition. Two different coils. What are the issues in upgrading a 240 to electronic ignition? November 6, 200915 yr comment_299627 It will work with your car. It doesn't have the proper appearance though. It is not a high output coil so you don't need to worry about burning up points too quickly. An AC Delco p/n U510 is also correct for this application and physically looks like the original. November 6, 200915 yr comment_299646 Another option is the dizzy from a 280ZX, preferably with a e12-80 ignition module. If you go with a ZX dizzy you will want to use the ZX coil, too. Do a search and you should be able to find the information you need to do this swap. November 7, 200915 yr comment_299690 Interesting. 240Zs had point ignition and 260/280Zs had electronic ignition. Two different coils. Can't speak for the US but Euro 260's had point ignition and as this one has a ballast resistor I suspect it is also point ignition.
