It will work with your car. It doesn't have the proper appearance though. It is not a high output coil so you don't need to worry about burning up points too quickly. An AC Delco p/n U510 is also correct for this application and physically looks like the original.

Another option is the dizzy from a 280ZX, preferably with a e12-80 ignition module. If you go with a ZX dizzy you will want to use the ZX coil, too. Do a search and you should be able to find the information you need to do this swap.

A quick trip to google world, gave me this page http://www.mdparts.com/beck-arnley/beck-arnley-ignition-coil-178-8025.php doesen't look close to the one you put a photo up of, but have the same shape as the original, for the specs, dunno.

Interesting. 240Zs had point ignition and 260/280Zs had electronic ignition. Two different coils.

Can't speak for the US but Euro 260's had point ignition and as this one has a ballast resistor I suspect it is also point ignition.
