Posted October 29, 200915 yr comment_298894 I am going to rewire all the electrical connections from my ignition, resistor, coil, etc. I can go to Pepboys, Oriely's etc and get some wire, but I was wondering if anybody has a good source of bulk high quality wiring, with good insulation. Zs-ondabrain, I am looking at you.. haha;) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33688-good-source-of-high-quality-copper-wire/ Share on other sites
October 29, 200915 yr comment_298900 Zs Ondabrain might know better sources, but I can recommend marine-grade wire to you, which you can buy through sellers such as WestMarine. It's meant to stand up to far more abuse (heat, moisture, chemical) than automotive wiring. If possible, get the tinned variety of wire, which won't corrode like the bare copper. (I doubt you can get that in marine grade, though.) October 29, 200915 yr comment_298902 I've used this outfit for connectors, but they don't sell wire.http://www.vintageconnections.com/Seems like there is another source that sells wire in all the normal colors, even with the tracer stripes. Can't find it right off hand, but it'll come to me eventually. (Probably long after someone else has found it!) October 29, 200915 yr comment_298931 If you have a business license, I can direct you to all the wiring you can handle. The outfit is called Micro Alarm out of California. They only deal with Licensed Business's so if you got one, let me know and I'll send you the info. Also keep Cycle-Recycle Part 2 in mind for your connectors and terminals. They are almost all I use for that end of my business. http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htmDave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33688-good-source-of-high-quality-copper-wire/#findComment-298931 Share on other sites
October 29, 200915 yr comment_298936 This is the only link I have that seems to have a bit of a selection in wiring styles and markings. Rhode Island Wiring Service Inchttp://www.riwire.com/I have not purchased anything from them. If you do, let us know how they are to deal with.Jim Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33688-good-source-of-high-quality-copper-wire/#findComment-298936 Share on other sites

January 8, 201510 yr comment_461506 Bringing this up from the dead. Does anyone have a source for tracer wire? I am redoing the charging/starting circuit and would like to get a hold of a white/red 8 gauge wire. Thanks! January 9, 201510 yr comment_461558 Try Waytek Wire. I have purchased from them before with very good luck. They have a very good selection (including marine wire if you choose) as well as lots of other useful electrical components. http://www.waytekwire.com/products/1453/Wire-Cable/ Hope this helps. Mike. Minimum feet required is 500'. I think I'll just buy 25' of white 8AWG and use a red paint marker and stripe in red, then on top place a WR indicator on it with a clear shrink wrap.
