November 2, 200915 yr comment_299229 Rancho Cucomunga is where Al Allen lives (Datsun-Parts on Ebay) If it's him, don't do it. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33722-hey-all-you-cali-z-people/#findComment-299229 Share on other sites
November 2, 200915 yr comment_299231 Rancho is a big city but that's exactly what I thought when I read that. I'm about 7 miles from there but I won't have anything to do with him. I'm about 7 miles from there but I won't have anything to do with him. That's who it is and I do know he's got a bad reputation around here. I'm certainly not looking at one of his engines...I'm scared to go there! What I am looking at is this set of racing seats. Hard to beat for the price though he will not ship them...hence my request for assistance.Any thoughts or input is certainly appreciated. November 3, 200915 yr comment_299317 You do realize that they are universal seats and require modification to fit into the 240z, right? You can find these seats all day long on Ebay from sellers who will ship such as http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from=R40&_trksid=m39&_nkw=universal+racing+seats Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33722-hey-all-you-cali-z-people/#findComment-299317 Share on other sites
November 3, 200915 yr comment_299318 KTM, does it require major modification? any welding? drilling holes? sorry to hijack this thread. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/33722-hey-all-you-cali-z-people/#findComment-299318 Share on other sites
November 3, 200915 yr comment_299329 ztattoo, that I can not tell you until I actually see the seat rails. You can most certainly expect to do some drilling and fabrication. I installed 2008 Mazda Miata seats in mine without welding. I simply needed to make 4 pieces (2 for each seat) that extended the mounting point in the front. The rear mounts were addressed by drilling holes in the existing mounting brackets. The mounting requirements depend on the length and width of the seat rails and brackets. November 4, 200915 yr Author comment_299378 You do realize that they are universal seats and require modification to fit into the 240z, right? You can find these seats all day long on Ebay from sellers who will ship such as http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from=R40&_trksid=m39&_nkw=universal+racing+seats I did realize that they were universal and would require some bracket work to fit. I have 1 (maybe two) parts cars that I could take seat brackets from and use those as a starting point to build something from. In any case, I had not realized the others selling similar seats for about the same total cost as I was expecting to pay for these inclding shipping. Thank you sooo much for the heads up. This now allows me to put that money towards my engine instead.
