J Shara Posted November 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2009 Isn't this a tragedy, possibly the ugliest Z ive ever seen.http://rides.streetfire.net/rides/1972-DATSUN-240Z_1045047.htm
Pomorza Posted November 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) It looks as if they wanted to make it into a Corvette. Doesn't look all that bad really. If it was a nice flat black color and had a better hood it would look better. Mate we've had this discussion a couple days ago on another topic. Yes you think it looks like the ugliest z on the planet. (I've seen worse ones). For the guy(s) who spent the time to build it and spent hours and money on it the car is beautiful. For some people putting on a body kit on any classic car "stains" it completely and makes it worthless and ugly. But that's their opinion. As the old saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't mind all these posts about how people ruin Z. Really I like to see what people do with them. It is better that someone did "That" to a Z then to have them sit in a field or junkyard slowly rotting away as time progresses. To me a rusty beaten up completely neglected Datsun is not only the ugliest but the most depressing sight on the planet. (and that goes for any old car really). That all I have to say about thatJanThis is ugly:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=24591&d=1218924225 Edited November 9, 2009 by Pomorza

FastWoman Posted November 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) Dunno, Jan.... I've long been fascinated with once-beautiful things that have deteriorated, whether cars, boats, buildings, or even people. I enjoy looking past the deficiencies and appreciating the history of what was. I can look at a car in a wrecking yard and think, "how beautiful." I always see the possibilities for restoration. (Of course a car in a crusher is a different matter.)Honestly, J Shara, if you hadn't told me that was a 240, I'd never had known it. I won't comment on the car, because that pisses people off. Let's just say I think my own Z is a thing of beauty. Outwardly the only thing that has changed from the time it rolled off the assembly line is the Panasport wheels. (I have the original hub caps and wheels, though.) Edited November 9, 2009 by FastWoman

TomoHawk Posted November 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) It's not stock, huh? It might be interesting to see pictures of what people could come up with. i think there was a picture of a Z with realy big dirt tires somewhere. It look very peculiar. IMO, that first car mentioned was trying to be a 70's Camaro on ludes? Someone could get a big gash on the leg if they leaned against the spoiler... preith Posted November 11, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 11, 2009 I'm reminded of this one: A few 4x4's: I'm sorry, but the Evel Kenievil z is ugly.
DeMoore Posted November 11, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 11, 2009 There was a Z that was a work in progress, probably was at MSA this past year, but I didn't make it to the show, so I'm not sure. It was at MSA last year. The owner was doing something to to it, like a custom body kit all around, but it was in a peach colored primer. What happened to that one? Maybe someone can tell me if he had it at MSA this year.
