Came across this on cardomain. Don't think I have ever seen it before. I thought I saw a similar car on the forum but don't believe it was this one. I apologize if this is a repost. Does this car belong to a member here?

I absolutely love what he has done and normally I am not the biggest V8 swap fan.

Love the body mods!!!!

Jay is a master craftsman and has been busy starting his own business. I saw this car while under constuction and his fabrication skills are amazing. I gave him a ride at an autocross many years ago and he said that's what got him into Zs. (proud papa moment)

He in "into Z's", much the same as the Street Kings were "into" Duce Coupes in the 50's.

What has changed is that one could chop, channel and section a 32 Ford 3 Window - - resulting in a much smaller vehicle. Today inches are added to the Z..... still the SBC rules.

FWIW,

Carl B.

That is pretty cool. It's really built like a late model stock car with datsun bodywork, but I see he has retained most of the original chassis except the front clip. I notice he retained the stock struts and spindles as well. I wonder why, with all the frame modifications, he didn't put coilovers and a double wishbone type front suspension on the car? Or at least camber plates where the struts mount. Oh well, guess that car won't see much track time;) Wish I had the time talent and tools to make a sketch on paper become a reality like that.

Didn't Pete Brock just shove a Chevy into a 510? I thought he was "into Datsuns" too. Anyway sorry Carl I forgot which site I was posting to. Going away now.

For those of you that like to look at V-8's, this one stopped by the house a couple of weeks ago. He lives about 20 miles away, small world. The car is well known on the web, just never thought it would be in my yard. His site is http://www.ratzun.com/. A determined and competent builder.

A few stats: Very early 73 240Z, 516ci chevy, 11-71 blower, street legal, flex fuel E-85, dyno pull of 840hp, 700+ft lb torque, fastest quarter 8.96 sec. Lots more on the web site.

Needless to say, when he left my heart was pounding, so was the ground!
