I just added a pretty cool little feature to the site. It's a weather module that can be customized based on your own account. You'll see a block on the main page with reference to the current conditions at Portland, Oregon (by default).

Go ahead and make changes to the module and enter your location. You'll be surprised how useful this little utility can be.

It's a fun little utility, so, I hope you like it. Still working on the other utilities and they'll be back online as soon as they are ready. :bunny:

OK, both of you guys need to get back to work - don't worry about what's outside, and quit surfing on company time!LOL

LOL LOL

The flip side is, I have a wall of windows, but can't do much non-work related surfing without getting into trouble (a local newspaper requested that info from another public agency, and it caused a big ruckus).

But, it is a nice feature - thanks, Mike!

I take it it works for all of your cities?

Here in the Gold Coast it is -18 degrees celcius!!!!! What's more, it's not even winter here ROFL ROFL ROFL

whats up mike ?

Hey Alfa, I suppose you haven't tried it yet. It's a global weather module. Configure it to work for your area in Aus and I'm sure it will work. It will even display your units... ;)

Hi Mike,

I have the site configured to read Brisbane weather and it is showing as being minus 18 degrees C also. Only problem is that the sun is shining and it is a lovely 29 degrees C outside.

Yesterday the readings were spot on.... Today.. well..... Looks like the weatherman is looking at Siberia and entering Brisbane. :)

On a more serious note though, the weather is indeed a handy little site and I have already gotten used to referring to it. Keep up the good work Mike :)

Cheers

Yes I *have* tried it . It just doesn't work for the Gold Coast!!!

Alfa,

It does have Coolangatta Airport.

Airports are useually where weatherstations are located, and this is the closest one to you. Like a couple of Kms.

Now quit your complaining ROFL

Ah, ok, I see the problem. I didn't read your message completely.

I also noticed that the block on the main page is sometimes different than the forecast. If in doubt, open up the forecast and check the current conditions there. By doing that, it will force a download from the weather server.

It also has Gold Coast, but that doesn't work.

-18 everywhere

Hi Alfa,

You're right. I just tried those settings. It looks like other locations are working just fine (Melb, Brisbane, Albany), so, the module is not having troubles.

I do see a broken image which leads me to believe that the local weather station is having difficulties in that area because it can't report back current conditions. The forecast seems to be ok.

You might want to try again later when that station comes back to life. Or, if it's still like this in a week, let me know.
