Did you name your Z? Is it a boy car or a girl car? Why did you choose that name, or did it just happen (and how)?

I'm a new Z owner of an orange '70 240. I'm thinking of calling her Pumpkin, Dizzy, or Kitty.

My Z has no name as yet. Have to think about that.

My previous "hobby" car was a 1960 MGA. It was named "Maybelle" after my best friends mother. Both his mother and the car had loads of personality.

Years before I had a 1953 Willy's high-hood Jeep. It was named "Louise" after the same my buddy's girlfriend. Initially both were quite unreliable. The jeep got better, Louise didn't...

Mine is big sam,named kind of tongue in cheek after the famous race car.I have a personalised plate BIGSAM.

I think mine may have to be called.. "WHAT NOW"

AS that seems to be how I always address her.

My wife named the 240Z "The Mistress" as I spend almost as much time and money on the car as I do the Wife.

The 260Z is "The Black hole" or the "Money Pit" as it's sucking the life out of me.

And the Garage is known as the "Daves Harem" because that's where the Mistress's are.

Her name is Kikka... (pronounced "Kee-Kuh)

Direct translation... Orange Blossom

Also the first jet powered Japanese air plane... an interceptor/ fighter-bomber / special attack plane manufactured by Nakajima during WWII.

It has been my observation that in the US it is common to name cars female names where as in other countries male names are more common. I once asked a guy from Austrailia why he would give his car a male name and he stated something to effect of strength. I think the Z is too sexy to have a dude name, I don't find dudes sexy !

I call mine My Lady.

"The Renowned Mr. Brown" for obvious reasons.

Interesting.......I've owned my 1970 for 26 years and have yet to call it anything but "The Z Car"! Granted, there have been times when I have called it names but, that's another story. Although, I have in the past refered to it as my Japanesse Ferrari! Why, because I'll likely never own a FerrariROFL

Just be mindful of the fact there are still some WWII vets out there that lost friends in Kamikaze attacks... I mentioned getting a personalized license plate that read KAMAKAZ on it at a car show held at a VFW post and I got an ear full from some old sailors...
