hey guys my uncle z been sitting at my house for couple of years now <hes out of the country> and i want to be able to start it and move it around but the problem is when i tried to start it the fuel with come out of the hoses <pics>.

anybody know where does it plug to? thx in advance

Those are the float bowl overflow hoses. Normally they go to the stock air cleaner housing which is why yours are loose. The idea is that if the needle valve gets stuck open raw fuel will come pouring out and needs to go somewhere. If it goes into the air cleaner at least some of it will get sucked back into the carbs while the rest will pour out onto the hot exhaust manifold. In your case they look like they might spray it on the air filters. Another solution would be to get longer hoses and run them towards the ground in order to bypass the exhaust manifold.

Edit: of course, you really need to get the needle valves unstuck. I didn't actually read your post where you said fuel was coming out. I thought you were just wondering why you have loose hoses.

hmm so where is the needle valves and what do i need to do to get it unstuck?

and u mentioned just run them toward the ground so if something were to come out it wont be in the engine compartment?

The needle valve is inside the float bowl. It's attached to the inside of the cover of the bowl. The hoses you're wondering about are attached to the outside of the float bowl cover. The carbs you have were not stock on a US 260Z but rather come from an earlier 240Z.

Remove the fuel hoses from the tops of the float bowls, unscrew all four of the Philips head screws from each float bowl. Inside, you'll see a 10mm wide x 3/4" long valve that is bolted to the top that you just removed.

Use caution when removing the top, so you don't mess with the Black round Float that hangs from the top. When you take the top off, you'll see the valve and be able to remove it with a 10mm wrench. Clean it up and inspect the rubber orr plastic tip on the inside peice of the valve to make sure it will reseat when put back together.

It also might be time to just call Bruce at www.ztherapy.com

He has everything you need. Valves, gaskets, etc, etc.

By the way, I see you have critters too ! Nut shells tucked away in crevices says rats or squirrels to me ! They drive me nutz as they chew on aircon covers and wrap , and any spongy type material they can get at ....:mad:

ok good news is that i got it moving freely again was actually pretty easy .

yeah its been sitting at the same spot for couple of years now.

now that my needle valves is not stuck i have to figure out why it doesnt start now...
