carl240z Posted January 8, 2011 Share #37 Posted January 8, 2011 I have the good fortune of having my in-laws in Clearwater FL, which means I can visit with Carl Beck and Jim Frederick when I'm down over holidays. I had never spoken to Jim before but reached out over Christmas break and he invited me on over to see the Z Mecca. Man, am I glad a I made that call. Jim is a great guy, very gracious and accomodating for a visit. He took the time to walk me through every car he as, the story and history. Amazing. 2.5 hours flew by. I have a stock gold 71 restore in Atlanta that I did, similar to the one in the pics. ONE. How awesome to see a collection of all of these great Z's in one place. My favorites are the Green restore that he is doing (VIN 52), the White all original (not restored) with the Red interior and the Blue all original with the Blue interior from NY. I also can't wait to see the Silver (VIN 19) when it's complete. Thanks Jim for taking the time out of your day to share and talk Z cars. I'll post some more pics in a new post. WDILL Posted February 18, 2011 Share #40 Posted February 18, 2011 My wife and I just returned from a visit with Jim Frederick and Z Mecca. I felt like a kid in a candy shop without Grand Daddy there to buy everything I wanted. What a great place to visit and Jim, a great individual to share information about the Z and answer the many questions I had. I'll be adding all the pictures that we took so that each person can decide which they want to use. It was really great to see an early Z being restored so I could take close ups of areas I'm currently working on and get direct inputs from Jim. My wife was as excited as I was and it was good for her to see the care and dedication that Jim gives the cars and that I'm not really insane. I'll try to get the pictures loaded when I get to a faster computer than my laptop. Everyone needs a trip to Z Mecca!Wally Dill

As I said in the last thread, I took a lot of detailed pics since those who went before me had taken such good pics of the cars. Fairlady: More pics to follow, trying to learn how to post more than 1 at a time.
