December 12, 200915 yr comment_303070 yeah, I don't use the smilies too much and it gets lost in translation. When I found my '73 the guy said it was a parts car, probably he was influenced by the first guy to come looking at it. The first guy thought about it too much. I went over and checked it out and made the deal. I didn't care if it ran or not, it was the condition of the body that I was interested in. Those in the rust belt would have paid $2k, I paid $500.I have been getting parts slowly for my stroker build. 9mm rods from the 2.4, diesel crank, heads, blocks etc, you name it.I did refresh a '75 2.8 to have fun while collecting other parts. Kenz240z is storing a '82zx engine for me while I get my chit together. It will be a step up from the refreshed engine. Eventually I will go megasquirt with su adapted throttle body injection. December 13, 200915 yr Author comment_303127 Right... so I went and took a look at the car... while being a complete car it has been stored in an open front wood shed for 23 years in the hot and sticky southeast where summer days easily reach 100 degrees but at the same time humidty is always an issue. What this means- the metal is rusted and the interior is crunchy. I put my hand on the drivers seat as I leaned into the car and the vinyl went snap and my thumb sank into the seat. All the plastic and vinyl sent to be dryrotted and crunchy. Rust in all the usual spots, fenders doglegs...I did not take the z as I do not have the time and space to tear it apart.I can supply contact info if anyone is interested... just send me a PM.It is a '73 with a manufacture date of 1/73. Blue with white interior. Numbers matching 4 spd car.
