Need to open the gaz door with no key. help!

Any tips on how to open the gaz door of a series 1 without having the keys....

The key I have for the ignition won't match the lock on the gaz door.

The key lock was not standard (just used a non-locking twist knob), so it's not at all surprising that the door key doesn't fit. I'm afraid that if the correct key is not available, you may be forced to have a locksmith look at it, or drill out the lock yourself.

take it to a locksmith, have him pick it then make a key.

A good locksmith can make a key fo it just by using a key blank and looking for the marks the pins leave on it and filing the marks. Its a job that you can do yourself with the correct blank and a file.
