Posted December 12, 200915 yr comment_303050 Hi, I had a 71 240Z about ten years ago and loved it. Let my wife talk me into to selling it because "it was only a two seater". A couple of weeks ago after months of looking found a very clean 77 280Z. Its in my carport and have already started to spend hours working on it. I joined because I am not so mechanicaly inclined and hope I can find direction and info here. Also looking for anyone in my area that also into the Z life.ThanksJimOakland, Ca. December 14, 200915 yr comment_303229 Welcome! I am out in Walnut Creek but work in Emeryville. I do some work on my car at my friend's shop in Oakland, down near the West Oakland Bart station (there's actually a 280Z there now with an RB25det getting wired up). There might be another one in there soon getting all the T3 (Techno Toy Tuning) suspension installed. They are big into the old school Japanese cars.Do yourself a favor and download the service manual for your car herehttp://www.xenons30.com/reference.htmlThe FSM has been a huge help on my '73. There are other east bay folks on here too Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34116-new-from-norcal/#findComment-303229 Share on other sites

December 15, 200915 yr comment_303331 Hi Jim, happy to help. My schedule after work has been sporadic because of holiday shopping... trying to find some inspiration. I'll let you know when I'll be going, and try to give some notice. I am hoping the weather is clear on Thursday, I've been thinking about going to that south bay meet that's on Craigslist. If you've driven down 7th, you've probably passed by the shop. They're on 7th between Market and Adeline, and have the big graffiti mural on the side (opposite one of the Acorn towers). http://performanceoptions.net/Contact.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34116-new-from-norcal/#findComment-303331 Share on other sites

Where'd you find that one, say one on ebay few years ago and it looked damn sweet. What shop you heading in Sac? Meet a few Z guys there but don't know a good place for parts. Depending on what you need if you can make it up to Yuba City on 99 i might have a few things you can use. I'm right off the highway . ~Z~ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34116-new-from-norcal/#findComment-303340 Share on other sites
