Posted December 19, 200915 yr comment_303726 I had always thought that the spring on a suspension controls the ride height and the strut controls rebound and adsorbs shock when the wheel hits holes and bumps. I have purchased new strut inserts, bump stops, ball joints and tie rods to try and get the ride back. but me without a garage i have to wait for the rains to stop and not be 30*. My problem is that the drivers side rear has no bounce at all, when you push the bumper down there is no movement. All other corners have the normal bounce, could i have something broken like the spring ? or is the shock blown out and all will be ok when i replace them. I am asking this so that if i need to get a replacement spring i can get one on the way. December 19, 200915 yr comment_303730 I am unable to see it from here... LOL But...but more than likely the shock is probably blown...kind of like having an operation...never really know exactly what's going on until you get in there and start looking around...etc...etc... webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34186-suspension-help/#findComment-303730 Share on other sites

December 19, 200915 yr comment_303737 Ha, my old Z with Mullholland suspension rides like it has no springs - 4 iron pipes welded in there would be better. You can visually inspect the spring now to see if it is broken and wedged somehow. I doubt this though. The wheel should drop down as you jack that side up. If it does not, well then you really do have something stuck. Try a length of 2x4 or really long crowbar under the tire and see if you can move the wheel up and down. Every car or truck that I have had that had bad shocks would bounce like crazy. Maybe you have a shock broke or rusted in a stuck position?
