How many 240Z's are left in Britain??

I've had a look around on this site and the Internet more and I still can't find out how many 240Z's are left in britain! Obviously MANY have died of rust here in the UK and also crashes.

Please feel free to add speculation here as well as cold hard facts.

I believe at the last count there were 150 240's 0n the DVLA data base which includes SORN'D cars (which mine is one) and probably those that have never been registered as scrapped.

Wow, as few as that? I'm quite surprised. I'd done a bit of reading about 240Z sales here in the UK and how they were few, mainly through cost i suppose.

My guess is that a significant number of 240's were scrapped without being registered as such. This explains why I've only ever seen one other than mine here! (which is also WELL off-the-road )

I'm surprised, too. That few 240Z Datsuns in Britain!

In my tiny country there is about the same amount of S30Z's - but Finland has a tradition to be a Datsun's testing market in Europe even from early 60's.

Not that surprising, since there were less than 2,000 sold to begin with (2 in 1970, 264 in 1971, 549 in 1972 and 1,114 in 1973 according to NMC data in "Nissan/Datsun A History of Nissan Motor Corporation in U.S.A"). Using an estimate of 5.8% still registered of those imported (similar to the US data in another thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=311216&postcount=37) that equals about 112 still registered. Not far off from the 150 that Nigel indicated.
