Do you know what this does and where it goes?

In more than 10 yrs of looking at Zs in car shows, junkyards and stripping them I have only come across 2 of these. Great idea and I wish I had more.

I believe I know why they go missing as well.....

No, it's an air intake duct on the turbos.....scheeeeeeh how many times do I have to say that!

It is in fact a turbo only inlet hose for the blower that cools the injectors.

As to why there are very few of them around, not counting the fact that only the turbos had them, is that the hold-down clamp is a cheap bit of plastic. My guess is that most of them fell off and are out on the side of the road somewhere in America.....
