Mikuni's VS SU's??

That was misleading. $400 for the Carter pump, Edelbrock regulator, gauge, Y distribution block, all fittings, like 30 ft of hose which I have about 6-8 ft left. The line goes all the way back to the tank/pump/filter. The fittings are the parts that add up. I have 9 fittings in total I believe.

I don't have a close up of the gauge I don't believe but I will try to remember to take a photo this eve.

Cutting the line and attaching the fittings is a bitch. I found it easiest to tape the line and carefully cut around the diameter with a dremel. Hacksaw frayed the steel too badly and what was recomended.

Regarding the ease of tuning triple, I think nowadays it is quite easy with all the tools available. A wideband is definitely something you should invest some money in. You would detect a lot of issue and you would get to carb tune faster (you won't have to spend for 10 different jet size). It is a very valuable tool, my car went from being full a detonation to screaming with a lot of power.

I would advise to take one with data recording capability to review quietly your records and act with confidence ;)

I never have to tweak them because there are out of tune, this is a myth as far as I'm concerned.

Synch between carb is easy: you put the same jets on all of them, only idle has to be set, a fuel hose stuck to your ear to get same flow between all of them brought me real a nice tune ;)

Money could be an issue, tuning should not as long as you are willing to spend time to do it right!

Thanks! I would be interested in getting more details (P/N, cost, etc.) on the fuel regulator. I have a feeling my current setup is not going to cut it with Tripple Mikuni's.

Ha ha, Greg, you are one tricky guy, LOL!!

Are your SU's stock or seriously tweaked? I realize that the class you run in may require you to use SU's. A friend of mine that runs in Vintage up here said he is the only one in his class still running SU's.

Several people have implied that if I go with a hotter cam, that the SU's just won't let it breath enough.

Anyway, I need to get more power out of this beast. I figured the triples was one of the faster, easier ways to do it.

My SU's are stock. Cam type doesn't have anything to do with it. It's the amount of power and the amount of breath the car is asking for. We're pushing 250 hp. The truth be told, the triples will ensure the intake capability is not the bottleneck for you. The SU's are reliable and easy to tune at WOT but the rest of the around town use might be a little bit harder to tune. If money is no object, the Triples will outperform the SU's. It is possible to make the SU's work though. We really don't spend much time working on the carbs on our racecars since we aren't supposed to do anything to them anyway. The needles are special for sure.
