Posted October 31, 200222 yr comment_17932 I'm currently fixing up my 240z. It has an L28 with F/I. I am seriously considereing buying the crane cams xr-3000 Electric ignition system, HI-6 variable spark ignition, and also th ps-91 high performance coil. These are all in the msa catalog. What are some of your opinions on this setup. I want to replace the OE ballast resistor, transistor and pickup, basically the whole ignition system. Is this a recommended setup? October 31, 200222 yr comment_17974 There are many opinions about this... I am using a Malory dual point distributer, and coil... Some recomend a dizzy unit from a late model Z... others like the MSD units.. ANy of them will probably improve the preformance of your ignition... If your car is stock, the stock ignition is OK as well.. If you are not having problems you may not need to do anything. I changed because I wanted a system without a vacume advance, that I could adjust.
