What about the Z432-R ?

I was surfing on jdm-car-parts.com (a very interesting site by the way) and there is a blog about the extremely rare Z432-R. Here is a bit of the blog quoted:

"I believe that Z432R cars are the rarest and the most valuable Z cars in the world. It is well known fact that these cars, as well as all Z432 cars, came with S20 engines, but I would like to focus more on other details here. Originally it came with lighter body parts (thinner fenders, doors, and fiber glass hood, plastic side glasses hatch glass, and so on. It was as ordered car only for people in racing business. Front and rear bumper never came standard, and there was no glove box, no clock, no heater panel nor heater, no center console, no steering column cover, no ignition switch at the colum(at center tunnel), no arm rests (just a very loose pull handles ) on the doors. There was also no spare tire bucket in the back (flat floor). They came with special racing bucket seats, and some came with special steering wheel known as “Mach” steering wheel. They came in different designs and made bu few different companies. Approximately 20 some cars were sold to public, but exact numbers are unknown. Each Z432 came in different spec. as far as carbs, transmissions, rear end, and so forth."

Anyone ever seen one of these race version early Z-Car? Must be incredibly rare and valuable today! Any in the US?

Alan T., or "HS30-H" would be our resident expert on the PS30-SB type. Do a file search "Z432-R" and a number of threads will come up regarding the car. I also suggest you cruise through Alan's photo album for pictures of specific details and parts. I have many photographs but I have never seen one. I would be surprised to learn of one in America.

In 2005 I rode to the Japanese National Convention in a beautiful 432R, I will find some of the pictures, just an incredible car. Here it is right on the site:

No, there are none in the US, I don't think there are any 432's here either.

There was a gentleman that was restoring them as a business but I am not sure he is still doing that.

As a side note not a 432-R but a PS30 is now in the states. Tom over on Japanese Nostalgic Car Forum imported one to go with his KPGC10 and KPGC110.

He is a very nice guy and I was surprised that 3 S20 engined cars were shipped to his garage at same time,what a wealthy man he is.

I was thinking selling my Zs to someone, I found him he would have be the man.

I offered him selling my Z432 and 240Z( and 1989 Silvia) but current exchange rate is bad for him, and I hesitated to selling my cars,so the deal was not made.

His Z432 is PS30-00037, a real 1969 Z432:)

Flying must really be keeping you busy. I would never have imagined that you would ever sell your Zs. Your cars approach perfection and has been a large part of my motivation as I continue to restore my car.

As you know airlines in Japan are facing really hard time right now,I want to keep my cars but I do not know how long I can play with my cars:ermm:

If I am sold my 3 cars, what do I do next? There is a good 1969 240Z with good low price for sale in Japan,I would buy the car ? I do not know.

Anyway please see my 1989 Silvia,this car is super clean,I did not touch anything to replace except oil/water/battery/tires.Turbo car,with a head up speed display.

GREAT to see a real PS30 outside Japan finally. Tom has great taste, and that looks like a really nice example. Early car too! Mmmmmmm, lovely! :classic:

PS30-SB 'Fairlady Z432-R' subject is quite tricky. Final spec on some details ( glovebox, heater etc etc ) was often chosen or altered by the first owner. No two cars it seems were exactly the same. Most important point for me is the difference in gauge of sheetmetal used in production ( roof, rear quarters, door skins, scuttle panel, front wings / fenders etc etc ) which essentially make it completely different from the 'ordinary' PS30 Z432. These cars are world-class when it comes to rarity / 'homologation special' type rank of importance in the manner of Porsche 911T/R for example.

Isn't that Tezuka san's PZR? I believe his Ikeda Bussan seats ( correct for Z432-R ) were recovered at some point in the past. The fabric and vinyl combination in the picture is not OEM. Originals should be 'hopsack' weave wool / acryl blend on the face ( office chair material! ) with black vinyl on the reverse side and headrest.
