Original Z fuel hose

What's the original "hose style" for the 240Z fuel hoses that are under the hood (hoses going from fuel rail to carbs, fuel filter to rail, etc)? I was pretty sure that mine were original, and they are not braided. I saw some on e-bay that were braided so I am now questioning. My hoses do not appear to be an off the shelf rubber fuel hose. The hoses on my car seem to be almost like some rubber coated cloth material style. Are these original? The EGR hose is made of the same material. Were the original ones braided?

TIA,

Rich

Thanks Arne! Started to second guess pops here after seeing the e-bay ad.

The amazing thing about that rubber dipped cloth stuff is it seems to be in real good condition. It does not seem to harden like the braided hose does. Wonder if they still make that type of hose.

Best Regards,

Rich

Rich,

I noticed the eBay sale as well and wondered. You are correct, though. I don't believe original fuel hoses were the braided type and your description is good. The fuel hoses also have painted markings and lines on them to describe their fuel rating.

Your rubber coated cloth type hoses could be the origional braided hose with the cloth braid peeled off. I have done this with some of mine which were unsightly.works well!!!
No, the surface texture is quite different than what is left after the cloth braid goes away.

Since I drove mine to work today, I walked out to verify. (No camera with me at work, so old pictures will have to do.) And I was both right and wrong. The crankcase breather hose is cloth braid-covered, and the fuel supply hoses have been replaced with modern generic fuel hose. But I was correct that I had seen this hose used somewhere, as all the smog pump hoses use it. The attached picture shows it all around the AB valve.
