January 21, 201015 yr comment_306908 Geezer-I knew I'd seen that panel before-- I'm the one that bought it. It is in great shape. taaroa477 (Redding, CA) looks to be a great vendor--it arrived so carefully packaged that it looked like a mummy.RichJust for reference--I was out bid on one a few months ago that went for $189.00 and it had the maplight with it. A map light with surround just sold 43.40. Just shows the right hype and you can sell everything for a lot more. Just like pet rocks. I have bought several items from that seller and never had any problems, his shipping is very reasonable and the parts are always better than I was expecting to get. Congrats and good for you! I will just make due with what I have for now, until one magically appears somewhere at a price I can live with, or maybe I'll try whittling one out of wood. January 21, 201015 yr comment_306941 being a piece of chromed plastic, maybe someone needs to find an NOS and start making a mold of them. They should cost less than $100 each to make and you get $100 easy. The other is the fuse/ashtray thing. Does anyone work with a company that molds plastic chrome toys or car parts? What ever happened to the ads coming soon for this and the ashtray on several of the Z parts stores that are online? Who was releasing them? I know we can use them on the market. I need a new fuse-cover/ashtray and the heater-control-bezel was cut to fit a modern radio with some pealing of the chrome at the bottom. I've tried Motorsport and a few others and all state NLA. As those pieces get old and brittle, they're very susceptible to cracking when installing via the two screws.Mark Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34421-heater-control-panel/?&page=2#findComment-306954 Share on other sites

Also the plastic parts on the linkages. I'm just waiting for one of them to brake on me even though it hasn't happened yet. For a car with a lot of plastic I sure see a lot of aftermarket plastic parts for it better than a lot of other cars Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34421-heater-control-panel/?&page=2#findComment-306979 Share on other sites

That is why no one takes the time or trouble to make reproduction parts for our very limited market. To get the price down on parts it is all about mass production. In the area of special interest, (Z car restoration), your potential market is limited. Until we are willing to pay the price, the reproduction parts will not be available. 2 ¢ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34421-heater-control-panel/?&page=2#findComment-306980 Share on other sites
