February 23, 201015 yr comment_310474 EDIS will shoot a strong spark at least 3" long. I run it on my turbo 280Z with MSII. Its not a good ignition system, it's great. February 23, 201015 yr comment_310478 Love the idea of installing a mild cam, just enough to get the car to really pull to 6500, rather than limp to 6500.. may have to look into that if I ever get around to needing a rebuild. That would be 230KV at room temperature and sea level Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34500-one-step-improvements/?&page=2#findComment-310480 Share on other sites
February 23, 201015 yr comment_310490 Two reports we should dig up for this. One is the Wind Tunnel experiments on the S30 done a while back. The other was way back but involved exhaust system swaps on a stock motor dyno'd.. The test showed no improvement (until you beefed up the motor)... February 26, 201015 yr comment_310746 3", are you sure? That would be 230KV at room temperature and sea level I beg to differ that one. I run the Mallory Unilite coupled with the MSD 6AL and the Mallory Promaster Coil. The lightning scar on my arm, from 6" away proves that 65KV can shoot 6" easy. On a 65 degree day at less than 200 feet above see level. Ask my wife what a grown man sounds like when he gets shocked like that. February 26, 201015 yr comment_310747 The bolt on shock absorber/bumper mounts are about 13 +/- pounds each for a total of 52+ pounds. That only leaves 22 pounds worth of bumpers and that's easy. February 26, 201015 yr comment_310768 The lightning scar on my arm, Dave I KNEW he was a 'wizzard'. My biggest one step improvement was not performance but paint. Anybody else wait 27 years for a paint job? However, that engine rebuild with a bigger cam and roundtops really gave it some extra giddy-up. I'm a fan of structured testing to prove the theory but i guess i leave this one out, ouch! March 1, 201015 yr comment_311017 3", are you sure? That would be 230KV at room temperature and sea level Never measured it with a ruler. I swear. Seriously. It jumps really far if you have the courage to hold a plug boot away from the plug with your bare hands. MUCH further than any stock Z system.
