Posted November 1, 200222 yr comment_18068 I'm in need of a little help. The headlights on my 76 are not coming on. The parking lights and all other lights are working fine. The headlights worked about 2 weeks ago (one really dimmer than the other, but that's another problem). Any suggestions? Thanks! November 1, 200222 yr comment_18073 Start at the fuse block, clean the fuse holders, replace the fuses, then go to the headlight wiring harness themselves. Check the plugs in the wiring harness in front of the radiator for any corrosion and loose connections. Check the wiring with a multimeter for the correct voltage. Check your ground wires in the engine compartment. Then if all else fails you will need to check your headlight switch itself. Take your time taking it apart and clean the contacts in the switch. Hopefully you might find your problem before you get to the switch. It sounds like a fuse or fuse block problem but one never knows..... November 2, 200222 yr comment_18097 2mz has good info.I would add to check the bright/dim switch as well. Most failures on anything broken is usually where human hands can touch it. Also that "dim" headlight could be your short. Have fun!!
