Posted January 25, 201015 yr comment_307408 Hi all! Name's Dan and I'm the proud owner of a 73 240. The previous owner purchased the car in Dixon, CA in 1974 and drove the snot out of it up until its hibernation in Redding in the late 90's.Spring 2008 I purchased the car from him and brought it back to my house in Vacaville... which is less than 20 miles from the original dealership back in 1974. After a junkyard ZX tranny, a ZX distributor, and a tune up I had it running that summer and have since then continued the car's legacy as a "Lake Berryessa Runner"... something that this 240 used to do back in the 70's.I have also changed out the rear end to a ZX 3.90, replaced all of the hydraulic parts, buried myself in electrical wiring, and got all of the door latches working. I put her down for the winter and look forward to doing suspension work. January 27, 201015 yr comment_307649 Sorry, Berryessa, as in Lake Berryessa. It's north of Napa. From my direction, it's popular to take Suisun Valley Rd out of Cordelia/Fairfield and hit hwy 121. It also looks like (on Google maps) that you can take 128 out of Winters Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34544-dan-from-north-ca/#findComment-307649 Share on other sites
January 27, 201015 yr comment_307651 So it's a route like the Dragons Tail not a track right? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34544-dan-from-north-ca/#findComment-307651 Share on other sites
January 28, 201015 yr comment_307745 No track, just a nice, windy road out of Vacaville or Fairfield to the Lake. A nice stretch of the road runs alongside the lake. I don't think it's as intense as the Dragon's TailI'm impressed you've heard of the Dragon's Tail and Deals Gap!
