Posted January 25, 201015 yr comment_307451 HELLO:) . I just got off the phone with vtoperformance.com from the latest "Reproduction Libre style wheels" thread and lined up a option to make Per-Spec mags, also known as Performance Specialties as seen in the "Who has a set of these" thread, in a 16x7 size! You can find it by using search keywords Per-Spec. Now we can either do the normal style or the deep dish slant lip style as seen in member Fun_N_My_Z's link in that last thread. The price quoted was for a run of 100 wheels or 25 sets for $8,000. So thats $320 a set or $80 per wheel. I can supply one of my Per-Spec mags for the mold and it will be made to scale just in 16 inch size not 14. Off set will be zero and the cool thing is the inside diameter can be upto 15 3/4 inches and I just confirmed with Arizona Z Car it will clear thier 6 piston 12.5 inch Wilwood Big Brake disc calipers! Those only need 14.5 inches of clearance! They will be a single piece aluminum cast wheel. Here some file pics of the Per-Spec rims and the last pic is the Deep Dish Slant Lip version of Fun_N_My_Z's. Duplicates are bigger copies and more info in post #2. My red Z, Ruby above, was running Goodyear Wingfoot 215/60/R14 in front and ugly 225/70/14 when pic was taking. Now running 215/60/14 on all corners currently FYI. January 26, 201015 yr Author comment_307458 Since they all have to be one color, for the sake of arguement lets go with a Polished Lip aka Silver finish and we can all then paint and powder coat to our own taste. Center hole size will remain stock diameter of 3.25 inches to still use vintage center caps and knock off spinners. Ok i think covers everything and we need 25 interested members or as close as possible to keep our individual cost down. If intereted please post you name here and quantity here and I'll keep it an updated list and current info. Suggestions or ideas are always welcomed. If i forgot anything let me know and you can always reach me at my parts store number in my sig for discussion if need be if i'm not here. I'll go first, I put myself down for 1 SET ! January 26, 201015 yr comment_307460 I know you always liked that mag style - good luck in getting the group buy going! As you know, the "Per-Specs" were the "dealer install" mags on my car when I bought it in '72... As you know, the "Per-Specs" were the "dealer install" mags on my car when I bought it in '72... HAHA, Damn RIGHT! and thanks for the support. Taking this idea to the Hybrid guys in the morning, not too sure how they'll vote though, but theres a big enough mix of folk. Been trying to find the elusive 15's for years. Only ones seen were Fun N Z's and the new owner of that car wouldn't sell the wheels. But now the best of both worlds, old school looks and big brakes. January 26, 201015 yr comment_307463 Check before you post on HybridZ. Their Group Buy rules prohibit offering any product that does not yet exist or is ready for shipment. Yeah thanks, I already planed on contacting the adminstrators first to see where to post it. First I sold so many Ansa's they banned me from the parts for sale section and classified me as a Vendor. Then when i posted recently in the Vendors section i was wrote up for 'circumnavigating the rules to post personal items'. Granted it was a NOS Datsun watch and a NOS C110 speedo which reads in mph, but both were in the same listing so I see thier point now.Edit` ` ` Moederator BRAAP at HybridZ was just PM'd. January 27, 201015 yr Author comment_307605 Added / edited more information in post number 1 and also to let you all know the center hole will be 3.25 inches. And the rims will be 3 piece rims unless their are any real big differences in regards to being a 2 piece. If so let me know ~Z~ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34546-per-spec-mag-16x7-group-buy-idea/#findComment-307605 Share on other sites
January 27, 201015 yr comment_307627 Wow, Thats the set that was on my '72... I never really cared for their look on the car I thought they looked kinda small. I removed them and put on the stock steel wheels and hubcaps, they are now in a nice dry spot in the basement... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34546-per-spec-mag-16x7-group-buy-idea/#findComment-307627 Share on other sites
January 27, 201015 yr comment_307681 No offense, but I also have a set of 14's on my car and I'm not a big fan of them. I'll be swapping them out at some point in the future-maybe when I wear the existing rubber out. January 29, 201015 yr Author comment_307804 Just got off the phone with vto and confirmed the wheel will be a "single cast aluminum" piece and comes with Lugs and choice center caps. Though I can design my own center cap disign which I just may do Taking a rim off Ruby Z to read any details or specs on the back. Wow, Thats the set that was on my '72... January 29, 201015 yr comment_307810 I'm not trying to be disrespectful but what's so great about those wheels? I had them on a 510 basically because they were cheap. They looked okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to have a set 30 years later. Now if I could get someone to make some 18" American Racing 200S in the correct offset for my GTO for a reasonable price......... January 29, 201015 yr Author comment_307813 Oh it's ok some people swear up and down on Panasports but I can't get with'em especially when I see Watanabes. I like the P/S cause it's really a cool looking period 70's design in my taste, more so with raised white letter tires. Another Z owner in town, recently discovered, has a gold 240z with these same rims but HIGHLY polished silver and push on caps. Very nice choice. Not that have nothing against 5 slot wheels either but for me it depends on the car color, stance and tire choice. Now if these were already big enough for the Wilwood kit i'd be content, and imagine these in Gloss Black if you would with a nice set of spinners. Pic of those 200s wheels Blake?
