Help needed to uncover the history of my Z

I started the spreadsheet in the first place after repeatedly failing to get my car listed in the other register.

That was the same with me and I also thought it is a nice feature to have on this site enabling us to share a brief description with each other. I corrected my information as it was jumbled also. It appears things were just moved around from someone unfamiliar with the spreadsheet attempting to add data. I didn't see any signs of intentional tampering.

I think you're right, Ron, and so is Steven a few posts up.

When I went to the spreadsheet to see whether a friend had posted his

Z, I found that data on all 3 of ours had become intermixed with others'

cars, and some info deleted. so I basically had to reconstruct them.

Looks like someone deleted my data all together?

At this point, perhaps some type of database where there is a form to add your info, and then it goes into the master would be better. That way we don't have people who don't know what they are doing messing everything up!

Doug,

On the spreadsheet, you list HLS30-73667 and say it is "listed as a Vintage Z but it is not". I'm curious as HLS30-73891 is one of the cars I'm looking for. Where is it listed? What can you tell me about 73667?

Chris

Thank you Carl, i have to double check my VIN and that plate located in driver side door pilar. Hope i have numbers matching car at least... Guy that owns HLS3071162 is also present in this forum. He has very original Z!

Let's suppose that i know the name of the original owner. Can i somehow find his location or any info? Again, here only thing we need is a text message with name youre searching and you get his address and phone number.

Chris:

You know about 73667. It was in the Nissan warehouse and both Nissan and Pete E. "thought" it was a VZ. When Nissan moved, and finally dug the cars out of the warehouse they found it was NOT a VZ. Nonetheless, that was after Pete's book had gone to publication.

FWIW,

Carl B.

You might try typing his name in the GOOGLE.COM search. It may show up somewhere on the Web or in a White Pages Listing {"White Pages" - used to be the standard listing in hard copy phone books}

The problem is - you may find 100 or more people with the same name. In which case you have to pin down the City/State or know something more about him in the first place.

good luck,

Carl

Well i found one 10yrs old email address that is not in use anymore... It seems (i looked trough all the papers) that im 3rd owner, not bad. First owner, Arthur, drove it at least 30 years from 72->2003(early). Next receipt i found was from second owner. I even have the original plastic Datsun warranty card! From -95 to this moment car has been driven 10K miles. Total miles of 130K or 30K miles. Damn 5 digit odometers.

If you have the VIN correct - it would have a Manufacture Date of 02/72. I have HLS30 71162 listed as being in Seinajoki, Finland.

FWIW,

Carl B.

That is my car! My car was brought to Finland in July 1972 and it's so

called "Original Finnish Car" and differs a little of those in USA.

Koalia good thing you had those papers :). Usually thats all we have to go on. Zenio- Interesting, how's it differ?

Tail lights are European style, rear side marker lights are missing - front are yellow. Bumper guards, radio and emission "things" from the engine are missing, too. But there is 5-speed transmission, rear sway bar, splash guard and feet rest...
