Buying Celica GT ANSA parts!

Wingpro, i like the look of the pipes when they angle up: looks a little more euro-exotic if you know what I mean. Nice looking product. I am pretty committed to getting my hands on an Ansa exhaust, although I must admit i really really want the vertical twin tips, which are hard to find now. Oh, belated response to earlier question, I wrapped the 510 when. .
Ouch, bad drivers stink. I agree, the up angle is way better :) theres another muffler I can maybe get with that same outlet pipe design. AND I'll finally be done with the Prototype ANSA Twin Stacks i've been working on building this weekend for Z cars! They look nice so far. Will post pics when done :D .
Zero, in case you haven't seen it yet. .
I say that also. I would've loved the WekSos event too, sadly I won't be making it to this event either :( . I'll try and attend something in April :) . Edited by WingZr0

When I painted my header, I used VHT flame proof header paint in flat black. I think it's rated to 2000 degrees? There is a curing process that can be done on the car or off the car in an oven. Oven is hard to do with a i6 header but you might be able to do it with a tail pipe. I would not do this with my kitchen oven by the way The VHT paint has a nice spray tip too
Thanks so much for that lead! They didn't have gloss in any of colors I needed, even on VHT website, but I did pick up that Flame Proof Flat Orange SP114; and it's a dead set for the main shade of ANSA Orange :) . Mailed the Celica Ansa's to Japan already but going to paint the first Twin Stack Ansa prototype I custom built yesterday instead :D Edited by WingZr0

Awesome glad you found a color that will work for you!

It's been a couple months now since I repainted my header and re-installed it. I sprayed several coats on the header and barely made it through a single can. The first time I only did 2 light coats and the it started to wear through. I took my time with the on-car curing process this time as well and it seems to be working well. I've been a few shake down drives since putting everything back together and the finish is looking good

Awesome :) , yeah I think I'll do that and be a 2nd coat before ripping it off to Tim Z. Waiting for this storm of ours to pass so it can warm up to finish painting. You have picture text? I'll send you some photos via phone if you do . And I highly recommend DJ Krush / Jazzanova playing "Coffe Talk/Wild Drums" on album Come 4109 from the year 2000. And also "Inside My Mind" by Groove Armada on Vertigo from 1999. That is if you like Ambient Music and a NICE COLD Pale Ale LOL . :D

Btw did you wait 7 days for the paint to cure as they say or can you add another coat like 3 days later?

hm I'm not sure I noticed that part in the directions. I might have though because of time constraints. I would paint at my friend's shop Saturday and spray what I could. Usually I would spray, let set for 10-15 minutes, repeat. I went back again the next weekend and seriously tried to empty the paint can onto my header. The paint looked so thick I finally called it good and never finished the can. The header sat for another month while I waited for my gasket.

When I finally got the car back together I did the heat cycles like the can suggests. It sure stinks when it's curing. It smelled for a couple days of driving the car but was fine after

not sure if this answers your question

Yep you answered it. Can says add all coats within one hour. After one hour let sit for 7 days befor adding any more coats to allow paint to cure. Got the Black on pretty thick so think I'll just add the other 2 colors just the same when it warms up and call it good. We've had spring weather for the last week now it's freezing outside. It barley hit 61. Wish I had a heated garage, so I paint outside and let fumes flow down to the neighbors house LOL.
