Man, did I make a big mistake yesterday...

Gary,

I too made that mistake while in Vegas for my hubbys convention. He was quite upset that I didn't want to join him at some of the presentations and quite ticked that I was renting a car............not just a car.........he figured there was no way in hell I was getting a Z.

Not only was he wrong again but I even had a choice of colors in front of him. So he went off mad. I on the other hand grabbed my camera and took off outside the city straight to the Vegas speedway. Enjoyed the 180mph riding in a formula one car with the mountains in the background.

But once I kicked that car into a slight slide in downtown on a turn I was hooked.

The next day I grabbed the husband of my hubby's associate and we ended up having a blast on the roads toward the dam. He had quite a smile on his face for a Harley man. A few pics are on my photo site.

Last Feb. I ended up buying a new 2008 350z......I love it!!!

Hi Beth.

The black one, I'm guessing? If so, it's beautiful. I went to your photo site...looks like you've been a gearhead for quite a while! The Datsun / Nissan collectibles section is both fun and quite impressive!

Actually I own a Dark Blue 350z while most think it is black. The rental was black though. I also own a red z31 with 62K on it..."She" is the show and "he" in blue is the go!!

I have been in it at least 10 years and have enjoyed it tremendously. It is all about the cars, the stories and more importantly the people involved in this wonderful "sickness".

I continue to build the collection via ebay or Japan Yahoo. But there are some great stuff in Australia but the shipping is crazy.

I had somewhat the opposite experience. Before my Z, I owned a BMW Z3 Roadster 3.0i. That was an amazing little car. When you hit WOT, the little car would take off like a rocket, and it cornered like it was glued to the road.

Ah, but then I saw my Z. Yeahhhhh.... It's beautiful lines, it's familiarity, the engine that you can actually see. It didn't hold a candle to the Z3 in performance, still doesn't, and probably never will. However, the Z3 will never have the coolness and nostalgia factor of the 280Z. For me, it's not the quickness of the ride, so much as the quality of the ride that counts. I sort of miss the Z3, just a little, to be perfectly honest. However I don't miss it very much.

Your description is exactly how I came up with my Username/Moniker. "ZCurves" is all about the beautiful lines and the gentle curves of the body. The Z3 is very much the same! But for me it just does not have the coolness and nostalgia I feel for my Z. I love my Z and it really does love me back!
