R/T differential mount

About how much $$$ are we talking about here? I assume I'm in for one...I have some clunking in between shifts that I cant locate.

If I can only get about 30 orders then the price will be $65, as I get a price break on 50 as compared to a 30 order. So the more who know about it, the better. So spread the word.

actually Zs-ondabrain did not have anything to do with resurrecting the mod...per se...... I think I kind of brought it back into the limelight so-to-speak when I was asking for all the measurements so I can get a SolidWorks drawing (CAD drawing) made up...so I can get a R/T mount made up for myself...and if I can ever get the freaking CAD drawing made...(here shortly I hope) may/might be a 3rd source for the R/T mount...at some point here in the near future...

And if you wanna throw your name on the list, you can have an R/T in your lap for measurements and reference.

Timing is everything. I just put the Z up on jackstands earlier tonight to swap the clunking old mount for an OEM replacement, because I didn't know when another R/T mount group buy would be coming around. Glad I checked the board tonight.

No Problem Phil. It'll be a little while before they're ready but on a good note, Just use the R/T with a Bump stop and you'll never replace the Stock diff mount again. EVER!! hehehe

OK, so that's 30. Let's keep it going folks. And on a good note, I CAN DO PAYPAL!! this year. Check and money order still work but PayPal is a go this year.

I finally got mine installed yesterday Dave, cant wait to get it out on the road. The mount went in without a hitch, fit perfectly! I had to pull the diff out after the initial try as I had put the mustache bar in backwards ( I swear the picture in my Haynes manual is wrong ).

Then, I had to take it out a 2nd time becasue I had the stock mount in backwards and the cross member bar didnt line up. Then, I had to remove it a 3rd time as the cross member bar was not flush with the underside of the floor. I learned the hard way, you cannot use the R/T mount, GM poly mount combo with the stock lower mount, not enough clearance. So finally, sans stock lower mount, everything lined up perfect and the diff feels solid as a rock. I dropped about 5-6 pounds as my car had that stacked metal weight attached to the lower factory mount.

Now, all thas left is rebuliding the rest of the rear end. Everything is cleaned, painted and ready to be reinstalled, new poly bushing, Tokico Illuminas, Eibachs, all new brake hardware. I dropped the tank, cleaned everything, closed up the holes from the 280 bumpers, undercoated...I swear, I never knew what I was getting into! The ole "While I am at it" certainly comes into play.

Just wanted to thank you again for the initial build Dave! If you are hedging on getting one, dont wait!

Glad you figured it out. You can However, use the stock diff mount with the R/T mount if you use a Bump Stop instead of the GM poly mount. I use the Bump stop in my Red 70' Z and the GM mount in the 260Z because I cut the crossmember into 3rds for the Dual Exhaust clearance.

I'll be checking with my metal shop tomorrow. I didn't want to even check with them until I had at least 30 orders to start with. So I'll know more tomorrow evening. So I won't even guess at this point.
