T/S flasher

Hi, I had been having a problem with my turn signals. My Hazard flash work but the turn signals doesn’t. It is not the flasher because I tested it.

There is Green wire that goes into the T/S Flasher but I read 10.5 V, and I think This may be causing the problem. This Green wire goes to the Hazard Switch and accordingly to the diagrams, this green wire gets power from the voltage regulator. Do you think the fault might be in VR?

Thanks

1. When you try to use the turn signals, do they come on solid or not at all? Are all of the bulbs coming on?

2. Is there any chance they flash if the engine is at greater than 2000 RPM?

3. Did you try just replacing the flasher unit?

Yes I know that the TS and the hazard are separte flashers I even interchange the flasher units and that is why i am sure that the problem is not the unit

They do not come on at all

I haven't test it, I they come on at 2000 RPM does it mean that the problem is within the VR?

I replace with a new flasher and still noting

Did you always have this problem? The flasher unit is polarity sensetive. My wiring diagram says the green wire goes through the hazard switch, which gets power from the fuse box. Low voltage is definitely contributing to the problem. Bad connection at the fuse? Is the fuse hot clips hot?

My blinkers stopped working about 6 months ago. I replaced the flasher with a new one equipped with a relay and it still didn't work. I let the car sit through most of the winter, and drove it again a couple weeks ago, and now my blinkers work. So obviously a wiring issue...something intermittant.....could be the same case with your car?

Mine did the same thing. Worked 28 years earlier. Made sure all connections were clean, all bulbs checked before installation, cleaned switch interior, among other checks. Tapped the flasher unit with a screwdriver handle several times and they have worked ever since.
