Passenger seat is perfect and most of the interior pieces are there. Original spare sits in a rust free hatch. Runs and drives OK for a 40 year old car. The price is right-$2200 from a friend. The bad-Rusted through in one of the quarters and rocker panel. Frame rusted through where the sway bar conects.(seems common based on the abundancy of replacement options. Original steel wheels do not come with the car(period correct Alloys are on it currently). The $2200 should be used to finish any number of several projects at home.WHAT SHOULD I DO? :stupid:Jer Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34919-to-buy-or-not-to-buy-that-is-the-question/ Share on other sites

WHAT SHOULD I DO? :stupid: Jer I rather spend $5000 and buy a rust free car than a rust pot. Series 1 with few rust will be worth at least $5000 or so. Mechanical components can be repaired or replaced a lot easier than body. It is a matter of opinion....... March 2, 201015 yr comment_311156 Given that you are located in Chicago, this may be the best series 1 you find under 5 grand in your area.....Just something to think about.Welcome to the board.John Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34919-to-buy-or-not-to-buy-that-is-the-question/#findComment-311156 Share on other sites
March 2, 201015 yr comment_311163 The rust you see is just the tip of the iceberg. I agree 100% with esprist. Spend the money up front for a better rust free starting point, unless you enjoy spending lots of time & money replacing the rusted metal. March 2, 201015 yr comment_311183 I have to agree with Johnny'O on this one. I used to live in Indianapolis, thats where my moms side is from, and just about every NEW car there is F'd up if not from the rust then from the wrecks over the winter. If a 70 is what your absolutely looking for AND your willing to spend to fix it then do it. If not then wait for a cleaner Z or ship one in from out of state. Pics would help us a long way in determining what your working with here. Oh yeah, and welcome aboard Edited March 2, 201015 yr by WingZr0 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34919-to-buy-or-not-to-buy-that-is-the-question/#findComment-311183 Share on other sites
