I just uploaded more picts of my Zcar as it sits right now. Not much has changed in the past few years except for some additional dust.

That's about to change here soon. Can't believe it took me this long just to get the images uploaded to my gallery!!!

Hi Mike,

nice car, good to see that you are doing a great job of it.

Nothing better than seeing a car that is done "properly". Love the colour and the way you went the extra effort to paint all of the inside as well.

Its time that people stop building S30 cars "half arsed" and getting the model the recognition that they deserve!!!

Very nice job Mike.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the time it has taken on this project. Perfection takes time. Especially when you have a regular job and are hosting/developing/moderating a great web site!

BTW, I noticed that the battery tray is missing. Are you going to relocate it to some other location?

Thanks for the pic's of inspiration. :classic:

Yea, the battery tray was removed so I could get in there with a sandblaster and deal with the surface rust. I wanted to make sure it was absolutely GONE!

The tray was powder-coated and I plan to drill a few holes to bolt it in place. This way, it's removable in case I need to get in there again. Of course I will use stainless bolts.

Too bad titanium bolts are so expensive. :bunny:

Having seen Mike's car, let me tell you that, at least on my monitor, the pictures don't really justify how sharp the paint job is.

I guess I could play with my monitor until, on MY monitor, the pictures come close to my mind's eye recollection of the intensity of the color.

The color is closer to a very bright shade of McMaster Carr catalog yellow.

If you don't have a McM/C catalog, imagine a nice BRIGHT Canary Yellow. It (in my opinion) is one of the nicest yellow paint jobs I've ever seen. Actually second only to one I personally painted with just about as bright a yellow paint. (Sorry Mike, personal pride and all.)

Good Job!
