Uhhh honey... I was out for a walk and the cutest little green car followed me home. I really, really tried to find its owner, but it didn't have a collar. It looked sad, dirty and hungry, so I think the poor little thing needs to come live with us. He will get along great with the ones we already have since they are all the same breed. Can we keep him, can we keep him? Pleeeeaaaaaaasssseee????

Just a minor alteration:

"It looked sad, dirty and out of tune, so I think the poor little thing needs to come live with us."

There, I think that makes it complete.

I'm gonna keep her 113 Green!!! I've never thought of owning 3 at a time or at once, so I've never considered any other colors, on a car that I didn't have. The paint seems to be in decent shape and the side molding is "Stick on" so I'll peel the rest off (that hasn't already fallen or peeled off) and clean off all the residue and try to polish it all out.

I think I'll be happy with leaving it green, for now. It may need a respray after the roof is fixed.

My wife was actually with me when I went to go look at it for the first time. Let's just say she was less than "Enthusiastic" as I pointed out the lack of dent, decent paint, and the fact that it looked to be a "Complete" car. Basically, I was trying to sell her on the idea of a 3rd Z. Her biggest concern is the landlord. But her best friend, who lives in our neighborhood explained to her that "You're allowed 2 in the garage and 2 in the driveway" and as long as it doesn't look like I'm storing trash, I should be fine. I think I'm winning this fight......

She is sad looking, needs more than a tune up and we already have a "Rescue Dog" who has turned out to be the best thing we've ever done as a couple. "Buck" is basically one of the kids and he is probably treated better than the kids. We had to fight to get Buck and I'm fighting to get this car. The 260Z was a rescue car as well. The guy was gonna part it out and cut it up, but I got there in the nick of time. Now she's gonna be a Beauty.

At this point, I'm counting down the hours. I'm as giddy as a fat kid in a chocolate Factory, who wondered away from the tour group... I'm excited but a little apprehensive of what I'll do with her, all at the same time. so we've fought a little but the make-up sex was great.. LOL LOL LOL Now she's demanding foot rubs and back massages. Take a guess as to whether the car or the wife will wear me out first?

Thanks for all your support guys. I'll post pics later this evening, after I fix the window track and am able to roll up the window and wash and wax her. Gonna need to invest in Windex.

Congrats! Always nice to see another 240 get rescued & back on the road.

Good choice to keep it green.

Wish I could fall into a deal like that. Would have got it just for the bumpers...

Been looking all over for those.

Look forward to seeing the pix.

WOW!!! That was a long day. The wood ramp broke while trying to get the car on it, so that left the rear wheels hanging off the flat-bed. So I jacked it up using a floor jack on the diff, got it high enough for all four of us to push it onto the flatbed the rest of the way, tied it down and took it home.

Brandon, my neighbor is the coolest, he got the flatbed and was happy to help with everything. I guess he felt he owed me for all the times I worked on his custom car.

My 18 year old son, Ryan, Tyler (Z_Tyler_Z), Brandon and Me all managed to get it off the trailer and started tearing into it.

We found almost everything. But found it needs Carpet, the Left rear quarter panel plastic and a few other things. Me and Tyler laid it all out, managed to get the windows up far enought to wash it and went to town on it. Ya, the windows need serious repair, the tracks are off and the regulators are bent.

We scrubbed the hell out of it then I conned my daughter into applying the Meguiars Cleaner Wax with a polishing machine (See how easy it is Jordan) "Hey, I can do that" So I gave her quick lessons and she went to town while I followed with a soft clean towel. Tyler cleaned the inside while me and Jordan went crazy on the outside.

I took a cell phone picture and sent it to the gal who released the car to me (Aarons ex-wife) and she wrote back saying "Awesome!! How come it looks so much better at your place than mine?"

So here's some shots so far......

And it turns out, the other previous owner, before Aaron, Had the car completely Rust proofed using "Tuff Cote Dinol" Automotive Rust Proofing....

Me and Tyler found the Sticker in the window and a butt load of small "Tuff-Cote" rubber button Plugs all over the car. They sprayed a Tar like spray into the kick panels, quarters, inside the doors, the floorboards, dof-legs and a few other places.. Pretty damn cool find.....

You can see what a days worth of LOVE and TLC can do for a 15 year waiter. In the last 2 pics, you can see some of the roof dent's I spoke of earlier. Not sure if I can pound them out but I'll damn sure try.

So here's a few more shots for today. My hands are hamburger and I'm gonna hit the pillow hard. More to do tomorrow.
