I hope so. I'm heading back out to do some more cleaning. SHould be fun, on the hottest day of the year thus far.....

Should help dry out all the excess moisture. The carpet and jute were soaked and trashed and therefore, tossed in the trash. Gonna do what I can and keep the wife happy by mowing the lawn and other things, inbetween breaks from the car...

So yesterday I (Me and Tyler) tore out the sound deadener from the front floorboards and under the seats. It was easy cause when I pounded the froor back down into place, the Sound deadener seperated easily due to rusty floorboards. I found a few pin holes and pencil size rust holes under the drivers seat. I'll weld those shut and POR15 the floors before laying some new Sound deadener down.

I'm NOT gonna go ballistic on this 240Z!!! Just gonna fix when NEEDS to be fixed, clean her up and get her ready for a motor. I might just pop in a running motor for now and V8 her later on. I really need to concentrate on the 260Z before I go nuts on anything else. The 70' is just a daily driver and just needs to be kept tuned up and drivable.

Thanks for all the Great comments and support. I can't wait for the P.O to see her on all 4 and lookin better than the last 15 years. I SHOULD keep her covered up till he signs the title over, or he might change his mind..... LOL

So I made a call today to Adam in Everett. His RB26 is in Customs so he needed to get the stock motor out of his 240Z and sold. He sold me the motor, Trans, radiator, Blaster 2 Coil, basically a full running drivetrain with all the goodies, for $200. AND!!!!!! He even brought the cherry picker with him and helped me install the motor right there.

So tomorrow, I'll take the flywheel down to have it resurfaced and after that, install the flywheel, New Sach's Clutch (that I bought for the 70') and the tranny. Just gotta find the crossmember and a good driveline. Then I'll check out the electrical system and see what I can do about starting it this week. YEAH!!! Aaron (The P.O.) is gonna POOP PURPLE TWINKIES!!!!

So today, I ran down and had the flywheel resurfaced for $35 and also had to buy a new clutch master for $45 as the old one was corroded and shot to hell.

Got the flywheel on, as well as the new Sachs clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and guide. Me and Tyler got the tranny in pretty easily, considering we were on a hill and the damn jack kept rolling down the hill, with the tranny attached. Had to use the 260Z's slave cylinder, stainless clutch line and clutch fork. But that's OK, the motor aint going into the 260Z any time soon.

So tomorrow, I'll finish bolting up the driveline, blow out the fuel lines and instal the new fuel fiter and give her an oil change and top off the tranny fluid as well. Then I gotta bleed the brakes, check the electrical system and with any luck, FIRE IT UP for the first time in 12+ years.

Also had time for a quick family photo with Tyler's Z as well. And that's a Subaru 60 amp IR alternator. Aparently, it's a direct bolt in.
